I felt like the least talented in this group. Every one seemed to be faster and better at this so I felt a little left out-- no reflection on the group. It seems in group activities it's easy to be left in the dust. Something for me to remember when I'm planning group activities for students.
Yes, we've all certainly been in this situation more than once. But, as you state, the important piece is to not forget this experience and use it to our advantage when working with kids in small groups.
ReplyDeleteI know of SEVERAL people in the class who also felt a little "left in the dust". There is a huge delta in our class when it comes to technical knowledge/experience. Some are feeling under-challenged and some are feeling overwhelmed. Just hang in there. You seem to be picking it up quite well. Just ask one of us or Barry if you feel like you missed something important. (btw, Barry's website has super-detailed information on the assignments. Just have to read it carefully).
